Infidelity
Pharaohs, Shoguns, Emperors and Kings, all men with powerful titles and a whole list of accolades to follow. They have conquered nations, been husbands fathers and of course they have all had mistresses. It’s nothing new in history and not uncommon in today’s society. Infidelity! Throughout time it was always accepted even expected that men should have women outside their marriage. It was not accepted then, or now, for a woman to have more than one man. In today’s society however, public figures are judged more harshly than our neighbor who has committed the same act. Is it not the same pain inflicted whether it maybe Tiger Woods or Tom Brown?

Well, in today's society there is a fixation with objectifying women to a point that it has become prevalent in this mainstream culture for women to be "milfs and cougars" etc. Women now are actually taking advantage of this mainstream acceptance to "express" themselves sexually and have been enjoying the attention it attracts. Men therefore are faced with more and more temptation as a result. I think that we are at a time that we can no longer depend on good old fashioned "family values" to retain a faithful relationship. There has to be a much deeper connection between couples in order to remain faithful nowadays. Communication and patience is key. Men get ready, the tables are turning as we speak.
ReplyDeleteInfidelity is a human thing. In all races creed and levels in society are people involved in the act of infidelity. However, men are accommodated by women and are constantly in the "chase" or follow position of the affair; indicating clearly that men have not quite caught up to the real play of the game. It is easier to blame each other and even place accusations so as to always evade the possibility of being caught. Is this a problem that we are trying to fix? Or, do we feel really connected talking about it as something that we share in common?
